BRTC Blemish Recover Balm Review

Hey sweet dolls!

This past week, I haven't stopped eating. Even as I'm writing this, I'm having some leftover duck from the Chinese restaurant I went to yesterday and you know what that means? It's super duper oily and fatty...and so good.

Enough about my love affair with duck--let's move on to today's review: BRTC Blemish Recover Balm!
I've had this BB Cream for several months and am now properly able to give a full account of my feelings.

The Blemish Recover Balm is part of the oil control line of BRTC. It claims to offer acne coverage, have oil control, help fight acne, and moisturize all at the same time!

The product contains tea tree oil which is known for its acne fighting properties and also contains aloe vera which is known for being a really awesome moisturizing agent. (Keep this in mind if you're allergic!)

The packaging comes in a white and blue squeeze tube which I really like! There's very little mess involved. The packaging is plastic, but it is sturdy and doesn't rip easily.
The smell is reminiscent of medicine tea tree oil. It isn't very strong to me, but it might be a problem if you're sensitive to scents.

Swatch Time!
Just this amount is good enough for 50% of your face! The good thing about this product is that it only takes  less than a dime to cover your entire face.

 Fully blended:
This BB cream matches my skin tone really well! There is, unfortunately, only one shade which has pink undertones.

The coverage is medium to full. One layer is already a medium and two layers would be completely full! This BB cream is thick so it's harder to blend compared to runnier BB creams, but for somebody who wants to cover acne or acne scars, this is pretty much perfect. If you wear a primer underneath, you won't have a problem! I don't experience any sort of weird flaking skin. I've only tried this in colder weather. I don't really see this being a summer BB cream because of its thickness.

The good news is that the oil control with this BB cream is pretty fantastic with powder. In 8 hours, my skin has a natural dewy appearance, but nothing that looks excessively oily. Without a powder, it might start looking oily by the 8 hour mark. However, the finish is semi-dewy. So if you're an extra oily girl, you might need to blot yourself. As for me, my usual shiny places look matte in the beginning of the day and dewy by the end of the day which doesn't bother me. 8D

So I originally got this BB cream because its claim of helping fight acne sounded so much like a dream...and that's exactly what it is: a dream. This BB cream does not help fight acne. I don't really think it does anything for acne really! It doesn't prevent acne nor does it make it go away. Therefore, one of its claims is false. :(

Pros:
- SPF 28
- Medium to high coverage
- Good oil control w/ powder
- Semi-dewy finish (maybe a con for you!)
- Good packaging
- Only little product needed to cover entire face

Cons:
- Medicine tea tree smell
- Hard to blend without primer underneath
- Oil control is average without finishing powder
- Doesn't live up to acne aid claim
- Only one shade

Overall Rating: 4/5
Price: 3/5
Recommend: For normal-oily girls who need to cover up some old scars, go for this!
